Remember the joy of hearing the ice cream truck jingles in your neighborhood? Well, those gas-powered trucks are getting a green makeover! Rivian, the electric vehicle company, has teamed up with Ben & Jerry’s to create the ultimate ice cream truck of the future: an electric vehicle (EV) that’s good for both the environment AND your sweet tooth!
These new “scoop trucks”, built on Rivian’s electric commercial van, are decked out in Ben & Jerry’s signature pint-inspired colors and even have a rooftop air conditioning unit to keep the ice cream perfectly frozen! After being announced on March 3rd, the trucks will be making their debut at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas, before hitting the road to serve up scoops across the country—especially in Vermont, Ben & Jerry’s hometown.
With a 161 mile range, these cools EVs are helping Ben & Jerry’s reduce its carbon footprint while keeping things cooler than ever. What a perfect mix of innovation and fun! And—let’s face it—who doesn’t like ice cream? What’s your thought on this release?
